Barrow Arts is a platform created by visual artist James Hatton as a space to house his functional and decorative ceramic work.

Barrow sits in parallel with his wider practice as a practical, craft-orientated entity, interfacing with his work in text, stills, video and sound.

Expression is always favoured over repeatability, with Japanese- and Korean-inspired design motifs, rather than shape, creating the foundation for Barrow’s “house style”.

Each resulting piece is unique, yet recognisable.
